MV-1: the ideal vehicle for people with restricted mobility - As a citizen of Longueuil, I was very proud to learn that the vehicle MV-1 (Mobility Vehicle) circulating since Monday in the streets of my town, and, like Montreal and Laval.
In total, 6 prototypes which are used as part of a program to know the different benefits associated with this vehicle assembled by hand and designed to meet every need of people with limited mobility, even severely disabled who use wheelchairs.
Note that these vehicles Taxis can also accommodate regular clientele.
The project aims to test the pulse of the customers targeted by this type of vehicle was launched by the Provincial Committee for consultation and development of the taxi industry (CPCDIT), with the support of the MV-1 Canada company.
MV-1 like the Hummer H2
The MV-1 taxi vehicle is assembled in Indiana, where the plant once it assembled models Hummer H2. Moreover, it was based on the chassis of the latter to design and manufacture the MV-1.
The MV-1 include:

- anchor points for wheelchairs.
- a space reserved for disabled drivers.

To facilitate access to and mobility within the vehicle, there is simply no conventional passenger seat.
The cargo of the MV-1 is 569 liters for CNG version and 1031 liters in the petrol version.
The engine is the Ford Crown Victoria, used in the famous New York Yellow Cabs, a 4.6-liter V8 of 248 horsepower, coupled to a four-speed automatic transmission. It can also run on natural gas.
In Canada, its selling price hovers around $ 45,000.
