BMW ennobles the supposed "fair importer" AMI Leipzig and is equal to two long-awaited world premieres before: the new BMW 3 Series Touring and the three-door 1 Series.
After various and diverse Erlkönigen previews the Munich show that is now officially all their pride in the combination of bread and butter class. With an increase in length of 97 millimeters and a wheelbase of plus 50 millimeters, the new BMW 3 Series Touring more space for passengers and luggage. This marks the 35 liters to 495 liters of luggage compartment capacity increased to the best value in its segment. A practical standard features such as the 40:20:40 split rear bench seat, a power liftgate with separately opening rear window, the stainless steel cover make it clear to the low 62 centimeters sill, the separate partition net roller and clean the lower floor stowable area cover that the adapt new BMW 3 Series Touring with the respective requirements can be perfect.
At launch, three fuel-efficient and high-torque engines are available that work with all of BMW twin-turbo technology. In addition to a new four-cylinder gasoline engine with 180 kW / 245 PS and the revised two-liter diesel engine with 135 kW / 184 hp, an optimized six-cylinder diesel engine provides 190 kW / 258 hp for sporty handling while reducing fuel consumption and emissions. All engines are below the limits of the EU5 emission standard, the diesel engine in the 320d can be provided upon request to optimize the EU6 further. Besides opening the switch driving experience with Eco-Pro function for all engine additional savings.
Power is transferred to the rear wheels at the four-cylinder with a sporty six-speed manual gearbox. As an option, BMW offers an innovative eight-speed automatic, which is the six-cylinder diesel engine fitted as standard. As another option, the customer, the eight-speed sport automatic with shift paddles on the steering wheel select. All geared to work with the consumption-reducing start-stop function.
