If you believe the information published in the serious Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun (the most read newspaper in the world with around 11 million units / day), R & D services Mazda currently be working in the development and implementation developed hybrid powertrain gasoline and diesel.
Thus the newspaper, Mazda will launch sometime in 2016 first hybrid powertrain developed around the SkyActiv-D engine. This engine is planned for the Japanese and European markets and is expected to retourver on D segment models (Mazda) and the SUV brand. This new powertrain will be coupled with a new transmission also under development. Mazda gives no details yet but announced a planned mixed use between 2.2 and 2.5 L / 100 km.
This model will be added to the current Hybrid Axela who knows some success in the archipelago. This version is powered by a set that combines a block 2.0L SKYACTIV-G "deflated" (only 99 hp) and an electric motor borrowed from the Toyota Prius. This Mazda 3 could also benefit from developments in the coming years and take after hybrid diesel engine, steering the European market.
All this will be followed in the next two years but there is bet at the Paris Motor Show 2016, Mazda will unveil at least one or two diesel and hybrid cars.
