All Infiniti models vintage 2014 bear the prefix Q QX cars and vehicles for multifunctional.
Q prefix models: sedans, coupes and convertibles.
Prefix QX models: Crossovers and SUVs.
In addition, each model will be identified by a combination of two numbers, which must indicate the hierarchy within the range.
A decision by Infiniti aims to clarify and simplify the sharing especially between passenger cars and multipurpose vehicles or ATVs.
Following many studies, management came to the conclusion that the name "Q" was much better received by customers of the brand.
Only the Infiniti QX remains faithful to the new philosophy of the brand.
In summary:
Q50: reserved for luxury sedans (currently G37/G37x);
Q60: reserved for coupes and convertibles (IPL currently G37/G37);
Q70: reserved for luxury sedans (currently M35/M37/M56).
QX50: reserved for intermediate crossover (currently EX37TI);
QX60: seven seats reserved for crossover (currently JX35)
QX70: reserved for sport crossover (currently FX37/FX50);
QX80: reserved for full-size SUV (currently QX56).
Infiniti Q50 first
