Land Rover Electric Defender Through Terrain with Battery Power - The previously known not necessarily for their environmentally friendly all-wheel Legend Land Rover Defender is now at least in a limited edition still to Mr. Clean.
At the Geneva Motor Show is one of 7 presented electric copies, which were built as part of the research project "Electric Defender." The off-road capability for which the car was known to, while remaining completely untouched.
A 95 hp electric motor replaced the diesel engine and the gearbox. The electric motor takes on a substantial torque of 330 Nm. The electricity is then stored in a 300-volt lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 27 kWh. The 410 kg heavy current memory is installed in the engine compartment of the car. A battery charge is according to the manufacturer in the operating range on the road for a distance of 80 km. If one then the Land Rover in his normal occupation, the terrain, dismisses, where so often drove significantly slower than on the road, should thus provide a battery charge before for up to 8 hours driving pleasure. With a 7 kW Charger fast charge takes 4 hours. With the smaller, mobile 3kW charger that duty is then done after 10 h.
