Scion IM Concept Revealed Before LA Autoshow - Our first look at the concept Scion iM confirms that it will be based on the Toyota Auris hatchback sold in Europe, Japan and Australia. Is set to make its public debut next week at the auto show in Los Angeles in 2014, the concept Scion iM foreshadows a production model for the youth-oriented brand of Toyota. Scion first teased the car at the end of October.
Although the visual link with the Toyota Auris is clear, Scion iM was dressed for duty show car with a wild body kit, suspension wheels, 19-inch cast down, a center-exit exhaust, calipers with four pistons brake and "incrediblue" paint with matte silver and gunmetal accents. Despite the improvements, there is no doubt that this car is closely related to the production Toyota Auris. A V-shaped gate bookended by lean lights leads to a bonnet, followed by a large sedan body four doors with narrow hatch at the rear. Toyota Auris measure wide 69.3 inches and long 168.3 inches, making it about a eight inches longer than the Honda Fit.
"The iM concept combines elegant style with the versatility of a modern sedan to attract the attention of Scion customers," said Vice President Doug Scion Murtha
We do not know what the engines will equip the concept production version of Scion iM, or if the car will keep the name when it reaches showrooms next year. Expect more details when the concept Scion iM public debut on November 19 at the auto show in Los Angeles in 2014.
