The new power storage will be available for an additional cost of 1,200 euros and with a capacity of 33 instead of 22 kilowatt-hours, offering 50 percent more storage capacity. This one comes instead 190 kilometers: just 300 km away without even having to recharge.
From the summer of BMW i3 has a greater perseverance because a larger battery offers in the same space then have a capacity of 33 instead of the current 22 kWh. With theoretically more capacity (300 instead of 190 km) then increases but also the purchase price of 34,950 euros to 36,150 euros. In the daily range, the developers but still give then also 200 km. That's enough to commute from all.
The variant with the standard battery will continue to exist. The performance itself does nothing: with a new battery of compact Stromer also needs 7.3 seconds from 0 to 100 km / h, even so, at 150 km / h electronically limited. However, what increases the charging time because the increases of the household socket now from eight to ten hours. Is also clear, because after adding the new lithium-ion cells will increase from 60 to 96 ampere hours (Ah).
Anyone who wants to enjoy this upgrade, but do not buy with a completely new car, but can replace the old battery pack chargeable against the new higher density. And the new model is available with a range extender (700 ccm two-cylinder), which provides more coverage with fuel from a 9-liter tank for again 150 km.
