The BMW 6 Series GT is to replace the 5 Series GT and wants to be ahead with more space. In addition, the Gran Turismo wants to convince through a further developed body, new technology and stronger engines.
Larger, flatter, lighter - this is the motto for the new BMW 6 Series GT, which is supposed to inherit its predecessor, the 5 Series GT, in November 2017. With the new model, the Munich developers are trying to combine the travel comfort of a top-class sedan with the aesthetics of a coupé. The new Gran Turismo has decreased by 150 kg, is 8.7 cm longer and at the same time 2.1 cm flatter than the old model.
Two diesel engines and two diesel engines are used for propulsion. With the Otto engines one has the choice between the 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol 630i with 258 hp and the six-cylinder petrol 640i with 340 hp. The self-igniter 630d is a 265 hp six-cylinder diesel. The shifting takes an eight-speed automatic with all units.
The control of the many functions in the interior is controlled via a 10.25 inch infotainment display. The standard range also includes a rear-end assistant with a city emergency brake, an adaptive cruise control and a steering and tracing assistant up to 210 km / h. According to another source, the basic price for the new 630i GT is to start at 62,300 euros. For the comparison: The 520d not offered in the 6 Series GT cost as basic engine with the predecessor 49,600 euros.
