Sporty, flat and with oversized kidneys, the concept car BMW Concept 8 Series therefore comes. At the Concorso d`Eleganza Villa d`Este, the Edel Coupe with eight cylinders, which can be seen as a prelude to the new BMW 8 Series, will be shown for the first time.
With the new concept concept BMW Concept 8 Series, the Bavarians have now brought to this year's Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este a luxury coupe with eight cylinders, which offers a taste for the upcoming BMW 8 Series Coupé. With its aggressively sculpted fastback shape, the deep and wide twin-engined drivers and its taillights, which are partly as in the i8, the model is at the same time also a first look at the new design language of the Munichers.
As with the current 6 Series, the upcoming 8 series also builds on the shortened chassis of the 5 Series. This would seem to be one thing to be clear: Six-cylinder and eight-cylinder engines can be found under the voluminous bonnet, but not a V12 engine.
Inside, the room is tidy. Here one concentrated on the essentials and only a large display installed in the center console, which should be understood as an indication of the increasing digitization of the operation. Of course there will be the 8 series also as a convertible and for 2019 a four-door 8 series Gran Coupe is promised, which is then to replace the current 6 Series Gran Coupe.
