2015 Ford F-150 Achieved Up to 26 MPG Highway

One of the biggest issues surrounding the F-150 switch for aluminum construction was as low weight would improve truck fuel economy. Officials announced today that the 2015 Ford F-150 4x2 equipped with the new 325 hp engine, 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 is rated  22 mpg combined, 26 mpg highway, and 19 mpg city,  Ford F-150 with the base, naturally aspirated 283 hp 3.5-liter V-6 is rated 18/25/20 mpg, 365 hp, 385-hp, 5.0-liter V-8 is rated 15/22/18 mpg and  3.5-liter EcoBoost is rated 17/24 / 20 mpg

These numbers reflect the rear wheel drive trucks. Equipping a Ford F-150 2015 with four-wheel drive drops the EPA odds slightly. The 3.5-liter V-6 manages 17/23/19 mpg, 5.0-liter V -8 reaches 15/21/17 mpg with all-wheel drive, the 3.5-liter EcoBoost is designed to 17/23/19 mpg and The 2.7-liter EcoBoost scores 4x4 18/23/20 mpg Ford charged $ 495 for the 2.7-liter EcoBoost option compared to the standard engine naturally aspirated 3.5 liters.

The 2015 Ford F-150 is significantly more effective than the 2014 Ford F-150 last year. The most effective version a rear-wheel drive 4x2 with engine 3.7-liter V-6, scored 17/23/19 mpg in EPA tests.

How do these numbers compare to rivals? The most effective version of the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2015, the unit's truck rear wheels with an engine 4.3 liters V-6, are valued at 18/24 mpg (city / highway). The smaller 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon achieve 20/27 mpg in 2015 with rear-wheel drive, automatic six-speed transmission and the motor base 2.5-liter inline-four. Chrysler Group is the outlier in the truck fuel efficiency, as the Ram 1500 Ecodiesel is estimated at 20/28 mpg in EPA tests. The most efficient petrol Ram 1500 gets 17/25 mpg with the 3.6-liter V-6 truck.

A diesel engine can improve efficiency figures for the 2015 Ford F-150? Ford technical director Raj Nair says the company has the technology to quickly add a diesel to the range of F-150, if the prices of fuels dictate (read, climb beyond $ 4 / gallon), but Ford manager marketing Doug Scott adds that the diesel truck engine options (for example, the Ecodiesel $ 4.770 in the Ram 1500), is profitable for the half-ton truck buyers.
