This year, Volvo is in the process of writing a new chapter in the history of hot Swedish car and it's called "Polestar." Based on Sweden, Polestar is a company specializing in Volvo tuning of both the street and the track. For some time, the tunes were available Polestar Volvo with the six-cylinder T6. 2015 V60 Polestar takes things a step further by creating special editions of the S60 sports sedan and V60 wagon beyond a slight bump in engine power.
In all, more than 70 amendments were made to the V60 T6 AWD R-Design to transform it into a Polestar. Available in Black or Blue Rebel tradition of Polestar, the car has a unique separator, front, rear spoiler larger, rear diffuser and unique 20-inch wheels all for the tidy sum of $ 61.815 after destination charges .
Car handling
A sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sport 245 / 35ZR20 tires on all four corners, combined with custom Ohlins damper system has been mounted on the Polestar is said to be 80 percent more rigid than even the sports suspension in the V60 R-Design. and the V60 Polestar distributes corners with amazing ease.Make a few 3790-lb truck so comes at the expense of ride comfort. All the stiffness of the suspension is visible on the road. Polestar rises very rough and is almost on par with my car rolling on a secondary market coilover suspension set-up. I get this is a variant of the performance of the V60, but it's still a wagon at its base, not a pure sports car. I would be happy to give up some of its handling prowess for a ride a little more comfortable.
Volvo V60 Sound so Threatening?
In Sport mode, the active exhaust opens to allow a glorious inline-six snarl popping twin pipes poking from behind. Who knew that a Volvo could sound so threatening? I quickly became so enamored with the sound in sport mode that I could not drive the V60 otherwise. This proved to be a problem as the Sport mode does not just create more noise, but also gets much more aggressive with automatic transmission six-speed of the V60. He holds gears well in speed and range downshifts occur early to keep the engine in its optimum power range. This is ideal for sporty driving, but during moderate motoring these parameters are too aggressive and I found the only way I could keep the sweet sound created in six-cylinder sport mode without cruising around 4000 RPM was to use the paddle shifters. I wish Volvo added a separate button similar exhaust that Porsche and Jaguar both the offer. Sometimes bark and bite are better served separately.
Despite the six-speed is a traditional automatic, a snap of steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters produces a rapid change of acceptable speed. A suitable double clutch transmission would trigger faster, sharper changes, but whether it should be on horseback with a traditional automatic, at least it is one that is sensitive acceptable. A fun fact about the transmission: it is possible to start the car from a dead stop in 3rd gear in slippery conditions thanks to a trick torque converter.
