In the first quarter of 2018, the new compact SUV Volvo XC40 will be available for at least € 31,350. A price that would be a good choice for the BMW X1 or Audi Q3 with its very clear car body design and a high-quality interior.
For the basic price of 31.350 euros, the XC 40 T3 is a completely newly developed 3-cylinder petrol engine with 156 hp from 1.5 liters displacement. For the rather moderate price, however, the customer must also be satisfied with the front-wheel drive and the manual 6-speed gearbox and do without numerous electronic and optical details. It also takes patience, because the basism model is still not available for market launch in spring 2018. It is to be submitted only in summer 2018.
Until then only the grip on the much more expensive D4 AWD with the 2.0-liter diesel, 190 hp and an eight-speed automatic with 44.800 euro remains. If you want a petrol engine right at the beginning, you have to dig deeper into the bag and order the T5 AWD for at least 46,100 euros. It comes with a 2.0-liter petrol engine with 247 hp and 350 newton-meters of torque. Both versions will be equipped with all-wheel drive and sold in the momentum equipment line. The bulky list of series extras includes such useful details as LED headlights 23-inch monitor, wireless hotspot and more. A hybrid version is to follow later and in two years a pure electric vehicle will follow. The compact SUV has a luggage compartment volume of 460 liters up to a maximum of 1.336 liters.
But the Swedes do not want to inspire the customers themselves, but also provide them with a kind of flat rate. The new model includes, in addition to the rate for the car, the taxes and insurance as well as services such as refueling (the fuel is not included in the package), the car wash, the breakdown assistance or the package deliveries into the car. The carefree package "Care by Volvo" also includes the repairs and the winter tires including their storage. The vehicle can then be exchanged for a new model after a 24-month contract period.
