The new fuel cell SUV is called Hyundai Nexo and will also be available on the German market in the summer of 2018. At the CES electronics show in Las Vegas, the model name has now been announced.
Compared to the ix35 Fuel Cell, the Koreans were able to reduce the vehicle weight and the acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is more three seconds faster (now 9.5 seconds) on the stage. For the compact SUV with a wheelbase of 2.79 meters, the developers rely on a completely independent platform. A new powertrain architecture leads to a significantly improved interior space and a larger trunk volume.
The high range, at least 30% more compared to the ix35 Fuel Cell, results, among other things, from a paneled underbody, air ducts in the front, recessed door handles and two-piece "Aero" wheels. The prices for the 4.67 meter long vehicle with modern fuel cell technology are not yet known.
