Ford presents models Transit chassis cabs and vans - Ford Motor Company yesterday announced the launch of the all-new chassis cabs and Cutaways Transit, designed to fit a multitude of tasks and skilled occupations.
The chassis cab interior has a partitioned and a bare frame ready for installation of aftermarket modules ranging from body-shop for custom equipment delivery. Similar to the chassis-cab, the cutaway is distinguished by its open cockpit to the rear which allows the addition of specialized modules such as bodies or school bus shuttles.
Chassis Cab and Cutaway offer three wheelbases of 138, 156 and 178 inches (3505, 3962 or 4521 mm) and total weight authorized in charge from 9000 lb to 10,360 lb (4 082 , 4-4 699.3 kg).
Chassis Cab and Cutaway Transit in addition to the widest range of commercial chassis industry, which includes Cutaway and Stripped Chassis E-Series chassis cab F-Series Super Duty chassis cabs F-650 and F-750 medium-weight as well as the F-59 bare chassis.
Spoilt for choice
Transit offers a wide range of energy-efficient motors, whose 3.7-liter V6 engine series, the award-winning EcoBoost ® 3.5 L-proven F-150 and the new Power Stroke ® diesel engine 3, L 2 optional.
Ford also equip the 3.7-liter V6 engine with a Prep Transit engine CNG / LPG (CNG / LPG) to allow customers to use their vehicle with this alternative fuel abundant affordable and clean. The 3.7L V6 engine is also designed to provide optimum performance when used with E85 FlexFuel.
Each of these engines is coupled to an efficient six-speed automatic for efficient use of the rear-wheel drive.
Transit: a proven robustness
Chassis Cab and Cutaway Transit based on a simple scale innovative structure that connects the car to a robust framework for parallel beams. The platform supports the cab completely welded throughout its area due to the longitudinal ranging from bumper to bumper.
The extensive use of high strength steel in the frame can withstand heavy loads with rigidity up to 50,700 lb-in2 while boron steel makes the cabin more secure.
For added versatility, the ladder frame made of high strength steel can be extended with support plates to allow the installation of a body with more cargo space.

Adding boron, has been strengthened and lightened the cab and frame rails in scale and Cutaway Chassis Cab Transit. These areas were then treated advanced corrosion ensuring maximum durability.
