These ads are the words of Robert Ferguson, vice president of Cadillac, in a discussion with reporters.
Vice president of Cadillac has said bluntly that he would like that every Cadillac model has its diesel version by the end of the decade and it could start with the entry level Cadillac. The man does not have a particular attraction for diesel but it's just pragmatism since it explains that these diesel models help the brand to enter the criteria for future consumption and emissions that will be implemented in the USA in the coming years.
R.Ferguson goes on to explain that modern and efficient diesel engines in Cadillac would settle permanently in the European automotive landscape. He finished on the subject by saying that even the mighty Escalade would be an ideal vehicle to receive a large diesel engine. We all remember the Cadillac BLS 1.9 L CDTI episode.
Turning to another topic, the SUV, Robert Ferguson suggested it would be good that Cadillac has in its range and even fast enough for an entry-level vehicle but also a competitor in Q3 X1, GLK, and even smaller models. He indicated that he would not be opposed to an SUV the size of the Buick Encore (Opel Mokka and our Chevrolet Trax) within the range Cad.
Wishful thinking? Pre ads?or Tests? Currently difficult to know what is actually especially since the arrival of Mary Barra to head GM but one thing is sure, ideas are launched! A follow.
