From March 2018, the update of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer / Gran Tourer comes to the dealers. The Munich promise more power for the vans with lowered emissions. Also new add 7-speed Steptronic transmission with dual clutch and also in the optics has been sharpened.

Even though the market share of family vans has declined steadily in recent years, this species is far from being amortized in Munich. An update will make the two models BMW 2 Series Active Tourer / Gran Tourer again attractive and so there is now more power for the Vans. The revised engines are 7 hp and 10 Nm stronger than their predecessor generation.

In the engine range, there are now 5 petrol engines (the big model only three) with an output between 109 and 231 hp and three diesel in the power levels 116 and 150 hp. The plug-in hybrid 225xe iPerformance with 136 hp from a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine plus 88 hp from electric motor will continue to exist.

The most powerful model, the 225i with 231 hp, the xDrive all-wheel drive is standard. The other models continue to rely on the front-wheel drive. The range of transmissions from the manual six-speed manual transmission and the eight-speed automatic transmission is now being supplemented for the first time by the 7-speed Steptronic transmission with dual clutch. This can be ordered optionally with the 218i and 216d, while the 220i is fitted as standard. The 225i xDrive comes standard with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

In order to reduce emissions, all of the diesels have been equipped with NOx storage catalytic converter and SCR system for urea injection, so that they comply with the Euro 6d TEMP emission standard and reduce consumption by around five percent. For the small gasoline engines there is a particle filter, so that they create the emission standard Euro 6d TEMP. There are only marginal changes in the design: The kidney has become wider and higher, so that it extends more into the hood and protrudes closer to the headlights. The front bumper has also been slightly adapted and for all four-cylinder engines, there is a slightly larger exhaust tailpipe left and right in the new version. The prices are still covered.
