Having received a redesign for the 2013 model year, the Chevrolet Malibu continued to struggle with sales to be overwhelmed by the Chrysler 200 and Kia Optima. The US automaker hopes that the next generation Malibu will rejuvenate its presence in the midsize sedan segment when it arrives in showrooms in early 2016. Chevrolet is not afraid to talk about new Chevrolet Malibu with global design chief Ed Welburn GM say next Malibu will have "a very passionate design" while making an important statement.
Product development head of GM, Mark Reuss, has recently shown a picture of the next-generation Malibu in a presentation to investors, promising that the sedan will not only have a "revolutionary design but also a revolutionary technology."
